The reader will find in this book the result of historical research, guided by the concepts of Weberian comprehensive sociology. It seeks a novel interpretation of an institution that served as a link between the Executive and the Judiciary from its effective creation in 1947. The Memoirs of the Ministers of Justice and the Reports of the Heads of Departments, Divisions and other Offices that made up the Ministry during the period studied help to provide a more accurate picture of the viscisitudes that took place in an entity of a constitutional State that has suffered from patrimonialism since its foundation in 1819. It is a different reading that is made with the support of the research of the New History that has taken shape in Colombia since the 1970s.
