Collective Administration of Copyright and Neighbouring Rights: A Study

The field of administration of copyright is very wide and it has multiple dimensions. The present study on Administration of Copyright and Neighbouring Rights is with Special Focus on Collective Administration makes an attempt to examine the national as well as the international initiatives in the field of administration of copyright and Neighbouring rights. This study is to give answer of the issues like the issue of any merit in the continued existence of current legal framework for collective management in India, the possible impact of the Copyright (Amendment) Act, 2012 on the functioning of copyright societies in India, the best operational framework for collective administration in India and a potential threat of Digital Right Management to the existence of collective right management in India. There are a large number of related issues which are incidental to the primary ones which have been raised. An attempt has been made to deal with these incidental issues at the appropriate places. These various dimensions of the subject have been divided into seven chapters in this book.
