Coenzyme Q: Synthesis and Antioxidant

Coenzyme Q (ubiquinone or Q) is a fully substituted benzoquinone that plays an important role in the mitochondrial respiratory chain and in the cell's antioxidant defenses. The molecular mechanisms of CoQ in Health and Disease has been wildly studied by scientists because of its bioenergetics, vitamin-like behavior, and interactions with antioxidant vitamins E and C. This book will be of extreme interest to biochemists, organic chemist, molecular and cell biologists, as well as nutritionists and biomedical health workers.
