Cleft Lip and cleft palate , also known as orofacial cleft ,is a group of condition that includes cleft lip and palate . A cleft palate is when the roof of the mouth contains an opening into the nose .These disorders can result in speech problems , ear defects , breathing defects , masticatory and aesthetic complications.A s such they are a birth defect but the cause is still presumed to be genetic in nature . This co edition has a saddening sociological impact on the parents and society and sometimes evening abandoning the newborn among the lower strata of society. With this compiled text I would like to bring some scientific knowledge accessible to common man and a condition that needs urgent medical attention.
