Citizenship and the right to land in Cameroon

The topic of citizenship and the right to land in Cameroon takes us right to the heart of the issue of access and securing land rights. Indeed, despite the international and national proclamation of the right to land, Cameroon's land legislation remains discriminatory, exclusive and rigorous with regard to certain categories of people. Thus, citizenship is called into question by the right to land. Yet the Republic promotes the idea of equality of all before the law. Can we say today that citizenship is guaranteed by the rules of the right to land? The aim of this study is to bring land law into line with international law, so that all citizens enjoy the right to land. To achieve this, it is necessary to recognize customary land ownership and reform the registration procedure.
