China: the pace of political reform and economic growth

The name Zhong Guo (literally "Middle Kingdom") is one of the oldest names that China has given itself and is still the name by which it refers to itself, although this may seem strange in the age of globalization. According to Cyrille J.-D. Javary, "this name dates back to a time when China remained the only great Asian power and when, for her, the outside world was only composed of barbaric countries, because without rites, but from which she had the kindness to accept tributes and tributes". The fact of having kept this name for so long (which country can indeed say as much?) represents at the same time an important sign of the perenniality of the country but also of its aptitude to change. The work we propose will focus on a detailed analysis of China as a major player in international geopolitics as well as on the place it occupies and will occupy in the world in the years to come.
