Children under Institutional Care in North-East India

Children under Institutional Care are one of the most vulnerable group in society. They are placed away from their homes and as a result of various social problems, their Right to Family is threatened. They suffer from various attachment problems that has negative implications on their physical and mental health. There are very few research available in the area of Institutionalized Children in North-East India. This book attempts to fill this gap and provide information on the profile of children under Institutional Care, explores their background, and examines the provisions of services available for them in the Institutions they are placed in. It also suggest several measures on how Institutionalization can be reduced, and if not, how it can be improved, to serve the overall interest of children placed under Institutional Care.
