Pongamia Pinnata: A natural remedy for dental caries. Twigs of pongamia pinnata contains anti cariogenic compounds which prevents the occurrence of caries with its daily use. The results of this study justify the traditional use of pongamia pinnata twigs as chewing sticks (maswak). It has become evident that water extract of pongamia pinnata twigs has antibacterial activity against S. mutans, S.sobrinus, L.casies and A.odontolyticus.
