Cervical cancer vaccines

Cervical cancer remains a public health problem because of the different representations that surround it. However, the use of the vaccine against this disease is still lacking. To understand this reality, we used two types of methods. The qualitative method and the quantitative method. We also used Pierre BOURDIEU's habitus theory and the social psychologists' model of health beliefs to understand the perceptions, attitudes and behavior of the inhabitants of Djézoukouamékro regarding the cervical cancer vaccine. For this population, the cervical cancer vaccine is a source of sterility and/or birth limitation. These representations of the vaccine lead them to be reluctant to give the vaccine to their daughters.
