Destruction of crop plants due to infection by fungal pathogens has always been an area of prime concern. Scientists all over the world are involved in finding methods of developing techniques for control of plant diseases. Chemical control via synthetic fungicides is the most common and prevalent method of disease control. Synthetic fungicides are extremely effective but the negative side of the use of synthetic fungicides is that they are harmful for human and animal health as well as soil. Recently natural plant products are being looked upon as the sources of new agrochemicals for the control of plant diseases. The world is gradually turning to herbal formulations which are known to be effective against a large repertoire of diseases and ailments and are eco friendly. More importantly, they are not known to cause any notable derogatory effects and are readily available at affordable prices.
