Automation is the basic requirement of industrial development. Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) plays a major role in the development of an industrial process in automation. A PLC has many I/O pins that can be used for controlling applications. The main objective of this project is to develop an ARM microcontroller based analog module and Test jig for controlling the calibration process of PLC based analog module. The input signals to an analog module are RTD as per industrial standard. The analog module accepts input that is from RTD which converts them to the actual temperature. Input channels of an analog module are user configurable. Linearization implementation helps a user to configure the module and use them as per requirements. This analog module has two input channels (RTD). ARM7 microcontroller based system is implemented using GCC toolchain. A two-point calibration scheme measures the gain coefficients at two points along a straight-line. A straight-line using Y = mx + C is computed, where m is the gain error (that is, the slope of the straight line), C is the offset error, x is the measured value, and Y is the corrected value.
