Business Enabling Environment and SMEs Growth in Nigeria

Business Enabling Environment and SMEs Growth in Nigeria is the outcome of a recent study on the effect of investment climate on the growth of SMEs in North Central Nigeria. The study found that; Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) contribute to social, economic growth and sustainable development, hence, successive Nigerian governments have invested resources in intervention programs aimed at improving the business enabling environment which is critical to the growth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). However, despite these investments, the Small and Medium Scale Enterprises in Nigeria are growing dismally. The study found that the growth of SMEs is being hindered by a hostile business enabling environment.
