Bryophyte Diversity in Rajasthan (India)

Unlike other regions of India, only sporadic work on bryoflora of Rajasthan and other parts of western India such as Gujarat has been carried out till now, which is not sufficient and does not effectively emphasize the present status of the bryodiversity. The Western part of India, particularly Rajasthan is one of the country's most overlooked bryological region due to its harsh environmental condition. But it has many species of bryophytes. Recent collection made them during revealed 24 species of bryophytes have been validly recognized. This book includes the morpho-taxonomical details and their distributional pattern highlighting the reasons for their poor existence in nature and their threat situations.
