BRIBING VOTERS IN THE RUSSIAN ELECTORAL LAW

Voter bribery is among the most dangerous and significantly damaging violations of the electoral system, as it infringes on the freedom of expression of the will of voters, violates the electoral rights of citizens and violates the fundamental constitutional values and principles of the people's power. In order to counteract bribery of voters, the legislator establishes various types of liability for its commission: those guilty of bribery of voters are subject to criminal and administrative prosecution, constitutional and legal sanctions may also be applied to them. The monograph investigates the legal nature, the basis of constitutional and legal responsibility and constitutional sanctions for bribing voters in the Russian electoral law. The publication is addressed to members of election commissions, other election organizers, candidates for deputies and elected office, judges and law enforcement officials. It may be used in the educational process in higher law schools when studying courses of constitutional and electoral law of the Russian Federation.
