Borges, Hemingway and Proust

The writings that make up this book are nothing more than ways of reading. It is not a speculation about meaning, but on the contrary, to return to the handwriting of each author, from a story or cutting out a scene; to venture into new associations. That was for Ricardo Piglia the act of reading: to associate.Whether from Borges, Hemingway or Proust we find ways where literature and psychoanalysis stress the texts to summon us to read them, to repeat an act that does not coagulate in a certain sense, or in the search for the novel; but in the detention and impertinence that all reading entails, at that point we write, when reading has nothing to do with the tradition of the texts, but with the inappropriateness of the letter.
