Body Image and Eating Behavior in University Students

There is a preoccupation with the aesthetic perfection of the body, a real paradox of what is desirable and what is socially acceptable, which in turn determines standards that significantly interfere with convictions and appeal to capitalist materiality, cultivated by the fashion industry, stimulating the consumerism of cosmetics, plastic surgery, the careers of artists, mannequins and athletes, violating conceptions of health, causing concern in the various areas interested in the quality of life of human beings. The slim body, venerated by the majority of teenage girls, has taken precedence in terms of weight care, in order to achieve an acceptable biotype for the current era. The cosmetics, food and beauty industries are trying to standardize the slim and slender body, taking advantage of health promotion campaigns and encouraging slimness, believing that this will impress the population and determine the healthy standard of body presentation. This work reflects on these and other issues, revealing important and significant data from a group surveyed.
