Beyond the mountains of Masisi

Abbé Eugène Haler'Immana, a priest of the diocese of Goma, was born in Masisi, North Kivu, DR Congo, on 13 August 1970. The title "Beyond the mountains of Masisi" shows how much he suffers for the future of his village, his native land.Thanks to active and evangelical non-violence, he is aware that peace will come to Masisi sooner or later. Yesterday the people of Masisi said: "Masisi green zone, come and see". Today: "Masisi red zone, come and loot". The young people of Masisi are killing each other because of ethnic ideologies.They are committing suicide for the sake of democracy, yet they can transform their conflicts by sitting down to negotiate. Even if there are conflicts, you have to go "beyond Masisi", think with vision, beyond your nose. His 'historoman' recounts the ordeal of the whole of eastern Congo, which does not want its history to be erased forever.
