Best tillage and nutrient management practices in fodder oats

Chhattisgarh state is rich in livestock resources. The unavailability of sufficient green fodder throughout the year is a major constraint in the development of animal husbandry. In order to make the animal husbandry sector most viable there is need to supply green fodder. Therefore there is need to boost the production of green fodder. Among fodder crops Oat is the important crop for milch and draft animals. Oat (Avena sativa L.) is an important fodder crop of rabi season. Due to its excellent growth habit it is very much popular as forage. Best management practices are the major constraint to this crop. So there is need to know the best tillage practices and correct dose of nutrients for increase in fodder growth. IN order to know the best management practices this work is being carried out.
