Being a teacher: art and science in teaching and learning

To teach is an art, to absorb these teachings and to put them into practice is a matter of wisdom. The teacher's mission has always stood out by working with the noblest reality in the world: the heart and intelligence of the human being. Nothing is more important than the human being. If it is noble and necessary to dominate steel and microorganisms, to build houses and computers, much more noble is to form man, master of all this. The wise Greeks already said: give me a classroom and I will change the world! Teacher, the one who teaches, who transmits knowledge, is to be essential for the formation of the human being. Understanding that a developed society is an enlightened society, and enlightenment comes through teachers, through quality teaching. The mission of a teacher is, without a doubt, divine, sublime, essential for the transformation of the world, but we have to admit that the paths that educators have to follow are arduous.
