Banking System in India

Money, one of the earliest and most significant inventions of civilization, is essential to the development of trade. Without it there is only barter, a relationship between two people each of whom has something which the other wants. We can¿t imagine our life without money now days. Money is needed at every stage of our life from birth to death. In this first chapter the researcher will discuss the origin and evolution of money in the world and in India. In this book the researcher discussed about banking system, growth and development of banking, and banking structure in India. The researcher also focused on meaning of bank its functions types of banks etc. At the end of the chapter the researcher got knowledge about the entire system of banking in India. In the next chapter the researcher will discussed about co-operative banks and its development, types of various co-operative banks, role of co-operative banks, commercial co-operative banks etc.
