The study was undertaken to quantify and identify bacteria contaminating the door handles of banks and the metallic keypads of ATMs at the commercial area of the KNUST campus, Kumasi. Swab samples were aseptically collected from door handles of banks and the metallic keypads of ATMs during the morning and afternoon periods. Enumeration and assay of microorganisms (Total coliform bacteria, Faecal Coliform bacteria, Enterococci, Escherichia coli and Salmonella) was done using standard methods.
