Axiological aspect of science teacher training

A teacher's social position, values, and image in general determine the results of his professional activity. Outstanding teachers of the past, one way or another, have touched upon the value issues of their contemporary teaching, highlighting certain moral qualities of the teacher. At the same time, when speaking about their calling to teaching, they noted with regret the rarity of their teacher's talent and the special shortage of real teachers for the school. The monograph attempts to designate the axiosphere of the natural history teacher in Russia in the second half of the 19th - early 20th centuries, to demonstrate the continuity of values in modern teacher education. The emphasis is on the socio-political situation in the country, the main stages in the development of science teacher education. The proposed invariant "set" of values of a natural teacher of the second half of XIX - beginning of XX centuries includes moral, existential, aesthetic, ecological positions, as well as a number of values of professional significance.
