Assessment of Hand Grip Strength

Till date many surveys are carried out in western countries on their musicians to study performance related injuries to upper limb or other body part, but there is not a single study carried out on assessment of grip strength in musician. So my need behind this survey is to do screening of assessment of hand grip strength of guitarist because of their profession and playing their musical instrument for many years. So it¿s important to assess the hand grip strength of every individual. By measuring the hand grip strength which will help in rehabilitation of such musicians if they have any upper limb injury later on in his/her life. In addition, normative data are needed to interpret evaluation data; to set realistic treatment goals; and to assess a patient's ability to return to employment. By this data we can go for Physiotherapy Intervention and Rehabilitation in guitarist to increase and maintain the grip strength. Thus, the purpose of this study is, assessing hand grip strength in guitarist.
