Assessment of Cardiac Autonomic Functions in Healthy Adults in Ile-Ife

This book contained important nuggets on the assessment of cardiac autonomic function in young adults in a black population.The study in this book evaluated the responses of blood pressure and heart rate to change of posture, cardiovascular responses to sustained handgrip, heart rate variability to deep breathing and Valsalva manoeuvre.It also evaluated gender differences in autonomic cardiovascular indices(ACI) and the prevalence of subclinical Cardiac Autonomic Dysfunctions.This was with a view to determining the normal limits and patterns of ACI among apparently healthy young adults.
