Assessment should therefore be well structured and learners should increasingly be at the heart of assessment. School-based assessment is now an in-thing; a new phenomenon we cannot afford to ignore. This book only synthesises researches about best practices in classroom assessment. Classroom assessment is a key factor to the mastery of subject matter prescribed in the subject. Most teachers breached their call by resorting to teaching for test. Their teaching is meant to guide learners to master examinable material in the syllabus as dictated by the national assessment authority blue prints.
