Assessing factors of low use of RapidSMS in Nyarugenge District

Family planning (FP) plays a pivotal role in population control, poverty reduction, and human development. However, there are increased discontinuation rates of family planning due to improper counseling and managing of side effects. Lack of full information about all family planning methods poses itself, which brings about the side effects and complications in clients, although there is mobile Healthdesigned to provide simple text-messages, which Community Health Workers and healthcare providers can use to conduct routine surveillance of health events and provide the necessary information about FP methods. The study assessed the usefulness of mobile health (mHEALTH) in tackling family planning issues and challenges in Nyarugenge District.
