Aspects of the Central African History

This textbook discusses a wide range of interrelated topics. These topics are contained in the Zambiäs Ministry of Education syllabus for the School Certificate History of Central Africa. Its coverage stretches from the Pre-Colonial era to Independence. It provides appropriate exercises for learners and brief revision notes in some cases. The textbook discusses contextual issues that include the meaning and value of history, the methods used by the Pre-historians to reconstruct the past which occurred before the existence of written records, the methods used by historians to report on the contemporary human issues and events, the evolutionary process of the mankind, the comparison and contrast of stone Age and Iron Age Cultures, the earliest international trade centre-the Ingo¿mbe Ilede in Zambia, the cradle of the Bantu people and its gradual diminishing importance over the years, the growth and expansion of the Luba-Lunda emperes in the Katanga region, the migration of the Luba-Lunda people into Central Africa where they built big, strong, and more centralised kingdoms such as the Lunda kingdom of Kazembe, the Bemba kingdom, the Lozi kingdom, the Kalonga kingdom, etc.
