The Book entitled ¿ARTISANAL SET BAG NET (ASBN) FOR BY- CATCH REDUCTION IN COASTAL FISHERIES ¿ was directed to have a glimpse of ideas regarding the present status of artisanal bag net with its wide application by the fishers. This gear has a direct impact on the livelihood system of the habitats of the coastal area. It is a tool used to provide food security in terms of the availability of catches also. Further, it speaks on the by-catch. Therefore, it is very much related to the existing status of aquatic flora and fauna in the marine ecosystem and their survivability. The origin of this book is basically from the research thesis work of the first author for obtaining an MFSc in Fisheries Engineering to the WBUAFSc, Kolkata under the guidance of Prof. N.A. Talwar, Dept. of Fishery Engineering, WBUAFS.
