AQUACULTURE IN ZAMBIA

This book is an assortment of various activities concerning the aquaculture sub-sector in Zambia; whose development has been one of the Government¿s main focus through the Ministry of Fisheries and livestock and Donor funded project with the main objective of improving nutrition and food security for the poor. The author used literature and the Internet to assemble the book, which presents information regarding the sub-sector's genesis, developmental stages, current status, opportunities, and Perceived Limitations to its growth. Over the past few years, Zambiäs aquaculture sector has attracted major companies, particularly in the Copperbelt, Lusaka and Southern provinces. Due to the higher participation of commercial entities, their farming systems in terms of numbers and sizes increased from 32,968 metric tons in 2017 to 38,480 metric tons in 2019.
