Appraisal of Retirement Benefit Scheme in Nigeria

Rest is always sweet after labour and it is expected of all to start planning on how to rest comfortable or without stress after serving his or her nation. Each civil servant is expected to plan ahead towards his retirement with a rest of mind not with a fear whether his/her pension or gratuity will be paid or not. There was a serious problem with the former pension scheme where a lot of civil servants in Nigeria are frightened by the word retirement, because after retirement they won't be given any lump sum to start a new life, rather many will die while waiting for their benefit to be paid. Therefore, this book has pointed out some of the benefits of the new pension scheme compared with the old one, in which if read by one will not be frightened by the concept retirement but one can plan well towards his or her retirement.
