Application Of Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) In Prosthodontics

Introduction of metal-free restorations has always been a hot topic of research in the field of dentistry. Polyetheretherketone (PEEK), a metal-free polymer with a modulus of elasticity similar to that of bone and dentin makes it suitable for use in dentistry. It is one of the most biocompatible dental materials available in the market at present and has shown minimal post-prosthodontic treatment complications. In the past 2-3 years, it has gained a lot of popularity in prosthodontics however, it has not been studied in depth. The purpose of this book is to summarize the outcome of the various researches conducted on this material so as to understand it in a better way and to popularize its use in the clinical application.
