In order to determine the efficacy of Tithonia diversifolia (Hemsl.) A Gray in the treatment of gastrointestinal strongyles in young cattle, three experiments were carried out. To characterize the species T. diversifolia from the bromatological and phytochemical point of view in the rainy (PLL) and low rainy (PPLL) periods; to determine the in vitro efficacy of aqueous and ethanolic extracts of the plant on egg hatching and larval development of these parasites and to demonstrate the efficacy of supplementation with T. diversifolia in the treatment of gastrointestinal strongyles in young cattle under grazing conditions in both periods.
