Antibacterial Effectiveness of Some Home Disinfectants

Bacteria live everywhere: like home and other social environments. Kitchen sink, hospital toilet sinks, court toilet sinks, public toilet sinks and microbiology laboratory sink were tested to investigate the bacteria and antibacterial activity of j-home disenfectactants. Eight different surface disinfectants (Dettol Liquid Choloroxylenol , Zoflora Linen Fresh, Detol Surface Cleaner, Clean n Fresh, Parazone, Sanitol, Savlon and TESCO (Antibacterial Cleaner) and three hand antiseptics (Carex, Dettol, Lifebuoy) were chosen as disenfectants. The author used diffusion method and measured the diameter of inhibition zones to establish antibacterial efficiency of the detergents. Analytical profile index (API) method was used for fast identification of bacteria tested.
