Anti microbial & DNA cleavage studies of heterocyclic metal comlexes

The present research work is initiated us to synthesize complexes of Cu (II) namely copper palmitate and copper caprylate in non- aqueous solvent systems. It gives a brief idea about micelle aggregation, inter and intra molecular interaction. The present work highlights the following steps: 1. Synthesis of copper soaps derived from common fatty acids namely Copper Palmitate and Copper Caprylate and their complexes with 2-Amino 6-Bromo benzothiazole (as nitrogen and sulphur donor ligands). 2. Analytical studies of complexes by chromatographic methods 3.Antimicrobial studies of complexes have been carried by Kirby- Beaur Stoks¿ method to access their comparative toxicity. 4. Interpretations in reference to DNA-Binding & Cleavage activity of concerned bacteria under study. This may be highly valuable for foot printing studies, studying specific DNA binding agents as diagnostic researches in biotechnology, medicinal applications,and potential applications for genomic research.
