Anthropometric Characteristics and Body Composition among Athletes

In recent times, there has been a growing awareness in the domain of Anthropometric Characteristics and Athletic Performance. Body composition and physique of an athlete has a significant role in sports performance besides other factors like physiological, psychological aspects, physical fitness and skills, etc. Requirement of specific physique for good performance in sports had been supported by different studies Therefore, In this book the comparison of anthropometric measurements and body composition among ball game athletes has been investigated. An attempt has also been made to study the difference between high level performers and low level performers of ball games. This book may contribute towards promotion of athletic performance by means of helping physical education teachers and coaches to develop a sound training program and might develop an insight for the objective selection of athletes of ball games.
