Andropogonoid Grasses of Southern Western Ghats of India

The book deals with the taxonomy of subtribes Ischaeminae and Saccharinae of tribe Andropogoneae in Southern Western Ghats of India. Altogether 53 species of the group are identified in Southern Western Ghats based on field data in comparison with the specimens deposited in different herbaria. Detailed morphology of the species was studied and characters of taxonomic importance were scored for preparing the key. Proper identification was done by matching the specimens with the protologue and type specimens. The authors followed the online resources like IPNI and WCSP for making conclusion regarding nomenclature of the species involved. The work gives an outline regarding the diversity of grasses belong to subtribe Ischaeminae and Saccharinae in Southern Western Ghats of India.
