An Investigation of Learning Vocabulary Through Online-based Reading:

Getting attitudes of language learners towards employing the internet in vocabulary learning through reading were seen relevant to language learning development. This research was carried to examine the attitudes of language learners in higher education in Saudi Arabia. Through a short course of training, their attitudes were evaluated and compared with the previous attitudes before the training, and the strategies used were analysed. The participants¿ attitudes were measured through pre- and post- questionnaires that contained three elements: the students¿ attitudes, the types of training used and the strategies often practiced. This researcher found that the participants have previous positive attitudes towards online-based language learning; however, a low percentage of the students showed their negative and stagnant changes because of some interpersonal factors. Some recommendations were given to reduce these results.
