AN ARTISTIC EVALUATION OF CONVERTIBLE ENSEMBLE

Clothing serves a variety of purposes in modern life. Clothing provides a sense of individual identity and distinguishes its wearer from everyone else. It permits a degree of departure from the more routine, mundane aspects of contemporary life and adding variety to become extra ordinary. Convertible garments are one that can be worn multiple times. There is no true "inside out" to a convertible garment, since either way, it gives a fashionable appearance. The purpose of designing the convertible garments is particularly concerned with the dress, or the like, to be worn in the usual manner. In this research project the convertible garments are especially for kids and woman. There are five garments and one kid¿s school bag was designed. The garments which were designed can be reversed and can be worn multiple times like top only as skirt, according to occasion. Other garments were designed with detachable components that brought into new style features. The designed school bag can be converted into play toy and a pillow. According to the garments the accessories were also designed that can also be converted into waist belt to head gear, necklace into bracelets, earrings to hairclips
