Air Quality Assessment and Mitigation Strategies:

This book examines air pollutants emitted from charcoal production sites in Nigeria, focusing on their concentration and impact on ambient air quality. Through systematic sampling and analysis, significant levels of particulate matter (PM), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and other harmful gases were identified, often exceeding Nigerian air quality standards. The findings indicate serious health risks for local communities and environmental concerns. In response, the study proposes solutions such as cleaner production technologies, community education, and policy recommendations to mitigate pollution. This research highlights the urgent need for sustainable practices in charcoal production to protect public health and the environment.
