AICAJU's contribution to the social development of communities

The Contribution of Cashew Industry Associations to the Social Development of Communities in the District of Mogovolas, in the Province of Nampula in Mozambique is associated with the economic and social facts of the country, given that cashews play a role in the unfolding of the development history of the Mozambican nation, having been the determining crop that allowed the paradigm shift from PRE to PRES development and, currently, the encouragement of SMEs, which are confused in their embryonic form with the associations. In this context, based on the assumption that the country's policy guidelines encourage groups to organise themselves into associations so that the surplus can not only be used to support themselves, but also as a way of placing it on the market. The research was carried out in the five administrative posts of the Mogovolas District, based on semi-structured interviews with the existing association groups, which allowed this manual to be embodied. In a nutshell, the research gave us an idea of how the local members are organised and how they use production tools, techniques and the commercial route of production.
