Agricultural Farms and Poverty Analysis in Sudan

The rural poor of Sudan are more vulnerable than the urban poor, though each is facing hardship life. The major problems faced by the rural poor in Sudan include low crop/man productivity, food insecurity and under nutrition. The book is organized as follows: CHAPTER 1: Describes briefly the methods of data collection and analytical techniques and methods used for poverty analysis. CHAPTER 2: Is devoted to a presentation of poverty incidences in the farming systems and poverty profile in rural Sudan. CHAPTER 3: Presents the causes of poverty on the household livelihoods framework in rural Sudan, CHAPTER 4: Illustrates the results of optimal resources allocation among the poor households in rural Sudan and compared the optimal plan of the cropping pattern and optimal returns acquired by the rural poor household in the various farming systems. CHAPTER 5: Concludes with a summary of the main results and the policy implications of the poverty. The targets groups of this book are the economists and researchers, poverty modelers, post graduate students, policy makers and rural people.
