Agricultural Extension Education-Effectiveness of Videos

The scientific agricultural information is increase day by day but its transfer to the farmers through the appropriate media is lagging behind which is a great challenge to the extension education mechanism and research system. Thus its very important that needed information should be transfer at appropriate time with best use of appropriate and available media. Specially the educational films and videos has been developed as a new method for the transfer of technology. As we know the timely information which is to be given to the farmers as an important factor which can lead for changing the behavior of the farmers as far as adoption of the farm technology is concern. It has been proved by many extension scientists that the motion pictures, educational films and agricultural videos are very useful for the presentation of the farm technology as it helps in the retention and change in knowledge of farmers. The video communication can reach to almost all the villages in our country as these videos, educational films are very helpful in changing the attitudes of the farmers for adopting latest farm technology and their gain in knowledge level can also be studied accordingly.
