What would the book be without a librarian to promote its transmission? What would the librarian be without the existence of the Association of French Librarians (ABF), born in the early twentieth century? Through this university thesis, we propose to study the content of the training manuals published by the ABF from the 1930s to the present day in order to highlight the structuring of the body of librarians and its gradual evolution in a constantly changing environment.
