A textbook on Heterosis and inbreeding depression studies in Okra describes about average heterosis, heterobeltiosis and standard heterosis over direct and their reciprocal crosses with inbreeding depression studies over direct and reciprocal crosses. It also included heritability and genetic advance was calculated. Besides this the maternal effect in crosses with regard to their heterosis and inbreeding depression were also studied. The aim of present investigation is to spot out the best heterotic combinations giving high degree of useful heterosis with low inbreeding depression.
