A Survey of Engineering College Libraries in Hyderabad and Rangareddy

The study is primarily concerned with libraries of engineering colleges functioning within the territorial jurisdiction of the Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts. The united Andhra Pradesh state was divided and two states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were formed on 2nd June 2014. These two districts are integral part of State of Telangana. There are about 186 engineering colleges in the study area and out of them twenty three engineering colleges were established in the year 2000 or before. The users in engineering college libraries are undergraduate students, postgraduate students, research scholars and faculty members.s the population is large, in terms of cost, time and labour involved, the investigator selected a sample of 4,500 users (9.43%) out of these twenty three colleges using stratified random sampling technique and a total number of 2,522 users responded. The data collected from the respondents was analyzed according to the objectives and hypotheses formulated. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) has been used for the analysis of data.
