A Study on CHILDLINE-Vijayawada ( A case study in India from 2001-09)

CHILDLINE is a national 24-hour toll free phone emergency and outreach service for children in need of care and protection in India. CHILDLINE Vijayawada is working in the city of Vijayawada, India since the year 2000, which was started by Forum for Child Rights, Vijayawada. It is one of the oldest and differently structured CHILDLINEs in the country and has got more number of intervention calls, due to conditions prone in the city. From 2001 to 2009, it served over 24,000 children who were in distress. Hence a study on ¿CHILDLINE Vijayawadä a Case study in Krishna District Andhra Pradesh, India from 2001-2009 was conducted to assess the satisfaction of children and also the impact of its services. The study revealed that CHILDLINE Vijayawada is a boon for children in distress and was instrumental for Forum for Child Rights to make Vijayawada a Child Friendly City.
