A Study of Rainfall Variability on the NorthWest Region in Bangladesh

Nowadays climate is influenced and changed through natural causes. Sometimes, the will of nature changes due to men made behavior. Rainfall is one of the important parameters of climate change. The relationship between Rainfall and climate is a significant one. The study is an endeavour to examine the rainfall variability at six selected stations, located in the North-west region of Bangladesh. The study examined data on monthly, seasonal and annual rainfall variability using the daily rainfall data collected by Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) for the last 25 years (1990-2014). The amount of rainfall varied considerably from season to season, year to year and from region to region. Finally, the time series statistical analysis of this study provided information about anomaly rainfall as well as the correlation among the six selected rain gauging stations for this region. This book has shown the picture of rainfall and its influence over the climatic behavior and economy of Bangladesh.
