Balanced regional development; ultimate goal of planned development in India has remained dream with rising regional disparities over the time. Spatial and temporal trend shows that disparities have exasperated over the time and more specifically post liberalisation. Book is an attempt to see patterns of agro-ecological and socio-economic development in Rajasthan because of its diverse geographies and cultural milieu. Western Rajasthan: ¿Thar¿ desert represents more than 60% of geographical area of the state with Aravali¿s dividing the state geographically in to two distinct regions. Rajasthan is truly melting pots of cultures and have wide variation in terms of dialects, attires, value systems, patriarchy, and patriarchy.
