A strategic framework for the prevention and Control of HIV/AIDS

RECOMMENDATIONS As a result of the catastrophic impact of HIV/AIDS in the education sector in sub-Saharan Africa like Ethiopia, which is already challenged with scarcity of resources and human capital for health service delivery, increasing utilisations of VCT services is one of the best strategies to curb the spread of HIV/AIDS. Accordingly, based on the findings of the current study, the following recommendations were made to increase the uptake of VCT services. 7.3.1 Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health ¿ The Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health in collaboration with their partners in HIV/AIDS prevention and control should allocate more resources to promote VCT Uptake for school community and beyond. ¿ Ministry of education and Ministry of Health should give attention to improve the quality of teaching and learning of HIV/AIDS and promotion of VCT programme for the school community. ¿ Allocating reasonable resources for the promotion of peer education programme in primary school teachers could play significant role in bringing positive changes.
