A NOISE PREDICTION MODEL for Indian Traffic Conditions

Noise affects humans in a variety of ways. It reduces work efficiency and affects speech communication. It induces loss of hearing ability and causes psychological strain and mental fatigue. It can also affect the chemical balance of the body and also cause headaches, nausea and a general feeling of uneasiness. Errors in motor performance, visual perception, and size and distance evaluation are other harmful effects of noise. In certain cases, it may even induce psychosis and acute mental agony. Therefore, it is imperative that systematic studies be conducted on all aspects of Noise which affect humans. This study aims to address the effects of noise emanating from vehicles moving on highways.
